Can you help me make my film?

Dear all,

As many of you know, I am shooting a short film this month. Adapted from my feature script of the same name, it will be both standalone short and a "proof of concept" film to help get the feature produced. It's called A Bird Came Down, and it is a Brooklyn-set story of love, pregnancy, and birdwatching in the age of climate change.

We have a phenomenal cast and crew, and excellent locations (including one provided by dojo members!). Now we are reaching out to our communities to help us meet our fundraising goal of $20K--we are currently at about $13K.

Would you consider making a donation? Any amount helps! We have fiscal sponsorship from NYFA (New York Foundation for the Arts), so all donations are tax deductible.

If you can help get the word out, that would also be amazing!

Finally, whether you are able to donate or not, I want to express my deep gratitude to every one of you. For many years, I have been thinking about getting back to making films (which I did in grad school and a little while after), and my training with Sensei and with all of you has played a huge part in making this possible!

Love,

Heather
