Brooklyn Aikikai's Gala 2009

Please join us for our second annual fundraiser to support the ongoing activities of Brooklyn Aikikai!

At last year’s gala, we celebrated Brooklyn Aikikai receiving official nonprofit status. This year we are looking to raise funds to supplement monthly member dues, which do not fully cover the dojo’s operations and activities. Further, sizable loans were taken out in order to build the 2nd floor expansion of the dojo, and those debts need to be paid off. Additionally, Brooklyn Aikikai has initiated some programs for the public, and has more goals for outreach programs in accordance with its mission, but these programs are currently unfunded.

With your help we can look forward to another year of strong practice in our beautiful space and continued growth for this dojo and community.

Location: Arlo & Esme (East Village: 42 1st St between 1st & 2nd Avenues)

Admission tickets: $30 each (note that admission includes 2 complimentary drinks)

Raffle tickets: $3 for 1; $10 for 4

The evening promises to be a fun one in this fantastic venue with good friends, music, and delicious hors d'oeuvres and drinks. You'll have the opportunity to support the dojo through a silent auction and raffle tickets.

We would love to see you at Arlo and Esme on October 4th but if you can't come you can still support the dojo by making a donation or purchasing raffle tickets.

Purchasing an admission ticket online will get your name(s) put on the guest list at the door. Purchasing raffle tickets here will get your name put on tickets that will go into the drawing on the night of the event. You do not need to be present in order to win a raffle. Note: silent auction bidding is open only to attendees of the event.
